The band started out as students of the Eastside cafe a community space in el Sereno, LA where they took Son Jarocho classes. Influenced by music from Veracruz Mexico and eager to teach others about it, they started formally playing in 2005

Social media
The topic of this project is social media and its effect on relationships. we asked the people we interviewed their name, age, hometown, and major. Some questions that were asked was what effect does social media have on personal relationships? Does popularity on a social site matter? We got a lot of interesting answers, what I liked about his topic is that we are at the time where nearly everyone has social media. People be on their phones so I wonder what effect can it have on people and what they believe.
In the video it starts with a recording of a person with their name on the bottom left. We cropped out us asking the questions and only have the answers. My partner and I are going to add music to the video so its not to bland. Also we are going to find the best responses and leave out the ones that we think didn’t make the cut. It’s interesting to see what people think about social media and the effects it has on them or others.

My goals
My goals for this semester was to pass with a B or higher and start off strong in other classes. meet a solid group of friends that I can relay on. While being able to start playing basketball. As of right now I’m doing good in this class I believe to have a b and Im doing okay in my other classes except one cultural anthropology 🤮👎🏾. I honestly didn’t make any friends I’m close with I just have a bunch of people I’m forced to talk to. I haven’t started playing basketball yet sadly i am still injured. Hopefully school gets better and everything goes my way which probably not gonna happen cause lives a bunch of highs and lows.
INQ Engagement
The INQ Engagement path this semester wasn’t bad. It sound frustrating to be forced to go to events, but being on campus having nothing else to do makes going to events seem exciting. I am actually glad I went because I met new people while learning new things. Having a positive attitude about curiosity affected my experience in a good way because I was being open minded going to all the events. Thinking of how the outcome would be if the event was going to be good or bad makes you wanna go and find out for yourself. One of the things I went to was the art show sponsored by the art class. The show had work they did in that class. It was a good amount of people there its was a calm vibe just people walking around glancing at the art and being respectful. It was nice looking at the work they did some of the artwork I found very interesting. The artists talked about social justice in their work so I learn more about that because they all had different artwork that shared the same message. I forgot to take a picture so I do not have one sorry.
